Zimbabwe’s Sean Williams scored a century to lead his team to a dominant victory over Nepal in the CWC Qualifiers 2023. Williams scored 102 runs off just 70 balls, including 13 fours and six sixes. This was his second-fastest century, with his fastest being the one he scored against Bangladesh in 2022 in just 73 balls.
In the match against Nepal, Williams was well-supported by his teammate Craig Ervine, who scored a brilliant century (128 off 121 balls; 15 fours, six sixes). Together, they helped Zimbabwe win the match by eight wickets, with Williams also taking four wickets in the Nepalese innings.
Despite a valiant effort from Nepal’s Kushal Bhurtel (99), Asif Sheikh (66), Kushal Malla (41), and captain Rohit Paudel (31), they could only manage to score 290 runs and lost eight wickets in the process. Zimbabwe’s bowlers, led by Masakadza (2 wickets), Chatara, and Mujarabani, were too strong for Nepal and restricted them to a below-par total.
